Introduction to the Level 3 Award in Education and Training
This Level 3 Award programme in Education and Training is an introductory course suited for students who are not yet in a teaching role (pre-service), or are currently teaching (in-service). As this is a knowledge-based qualification, it will educate individuals on the core theories needed for a successful career in teaching. Alternatively, this course is also suitable for those who are interested in training in a wide range of contexts. This qualification is best for trainees who have little to no previous experience in teaching or training, subsequently establishing a reliable foundation for individuals who wish to progress to further qualifications such as the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Learning or the Level 5 Diploma in Education and Learning.
The course is split into three units, with unit B and C both comprised of several optional topics, allowing you to personalise the course according to what you think you may benefit from most. Unit A is the only mandatory course, which then provides a base education that you then expand on in further units. All unit options within the course provide you with a strong core knowledge, helping you gain understanding of the industry. Furthermore, with Microteaching at the heart of the course and its assessment, this course provides in school experience, allowing you to apply what you have learnt and demonstrate your skills in real time.
Upon successful completion of the programme, developed by the College of Contract Management, you will be awarded with a certificate of your achievement. Additionally this certification will act as a great addition to your CV, highlighting to future employers your enthusiasm and commitment to becoming the best teacher you can be.

Entry Requirements for the Level 3 Award in Education and Training
For this course you do not need to have any logged previous teaching practice hours, meaning next to no entry requirements, however it is recommended that the minimum age for this course is 19 however this may be looked at upon a case by case basis.Please also note that some employers will request a DBS check and it is the responsibility of the learner to find this out.
Level 3 Award in Education and Training Course Content
The Level 3 Award in Education and training consists of 3 groups, across which students are required to achieve a minimum total of 12 credits. Group A consists of one unit, which is the only mandatory unit in the course unlike Groups B and C which each contain multiple units for students to chose from provided you reach the minimum credit total.

Method of Delivery
Level 3 Award Course Delivery
Once you have paid for the course the college will process your application and grant you access to Moodle, your course hub. From here you will be able to access all necessary information on your course regarding your timetable, lecture resources and recordings and course material. Also, you are able to use Moodle to access any messages regarding your course. Additionally, you will also receive weekly links to the live online lectures using shared-screen software. Through which you are able to interact and speak with both your lecturer and your fellow students. After each unit you will be sent a series of assessments for you to complete to demonstrate your knowledge. Furthermore, you will be involved in a minimum of one hour of microteaching. This needs to be a minimum of 15 minutes delivery by the student, the remaining time may be made up through observations of other students.
There is no grading scale with this course so to pass you must meet all learning outcomes.
Period of Study
This Level 3 Award can be achieved in as little as 3 months.

The start date of your chosen course will vary depending on your enrolment date. Moreover the enrolment date is the date of your full payment. In addition, you will receive a certificate once you successfully complete the course.
